Thread: DVD Quality

    Default DVD Quality

I recently started to burn my home videos from my mini dv onto DVDs but so far I have been unimpressed with the quality. I am using vista’s plain burning program and I put all of the settings as high as could. The video came out a little better than vhs and I was expecting, well DVD quality. So am I expecting too much? Is the vista program the problem?

    Any input is greatly appreciated.

Vista’s plain burning program, which one are you referring to? For video capture, editing and burning I would use a dedicated editor, rather than one app for capture, another one for editing and a third one for burning. That way you can control all of the settings from the one dialogue box.

    Great feedback, thank you.

Do you have any quick suggestions on what is the best programs for these three functions. Cost/Ease of use being the primary consideration.

Personally, Adobe Premiere Elements 4.0 or you may be able to pick up a cheaper version of 3.0, which will do all the things you want. Download a 30 day trial of it or any other editor you see talked about on the forum and try them out for the 30 days to see which one you like best.
