    Default how can i transfer my video to my computer

    hi, i have a JVC GR-DVL520U and i already have fire wire, what else do i need to transfer my video to my computer. do i need a software and where can i get one for free download.

    Does that JVC have a Firewire socket on it? Does your computer have a Firewire socket? If the answer is yes to both of those then you need to purchase a (I presume - on the JVC) Firewire cable with a 4 pin connector at one end and a 6 pin connector at the other end. Plug the 4 pin into the camcorder and the 6 pin into the Firewire socket on your computer. You could start by using Windows Movie Maker, which is on your computer and free, but its output options are limited so download a few of the trial software editors and see which one floats your boat.

    Windows XP has a free Video capture and edit program in one of those menus.
