Hey im new to the firum but not new to encoding .. (just to let ya know )

From AVI (xvid ac3) to DVD (DVD using Nero Vision) .. on the playback on my comp im getting a grey border at the top and bottom of the screen , the DVD plays fine in a standalone DVD player .. but its really annoying as i play alot of my movie through my TV from my computer..

Looks to me like you have a 16:9 image showing a 2.35 movie so even within the 16:9 image you have black borders top and bottom. It just happens to be a slightly different black to that above the 16:9 image that's all.

Same effect as ig you played a widescreen movie in pan and scan mode on your wide screen TV and then forgot to zoom. You woul dget black broders on the side as well as the top but they are different blacks.
