  1. Default error occured while creating a proxy file for a stream

When I move my clip to vegas, it says that it will create a prox file but then I get the following error, would you have any suggestions on how to handle this ?

Warning: An error occured while creating a proxy file for a stream, the format of the stream is not consistent throught the file

Well, the message says the format of the stream (file) is not consitent throughout. This may be the case or it may be that you don't have the correct codec installed.
Download and run GSpot on the file which will tell us what codec is required.
Can you play the clip in anything else? If so what? And what other programs (if any) does it fail in?
Finally, perhaps most importantly, give us a clue - where did your file come from/how did you create it?
