    Default dvd disks

What's the differance between dvd-r and dvd+r disks?

To the casual end user, nothing. They're just competing formats introduced by two groups of manufacturers. The most sensible option is to buy a multi format DVD writer that can burn to both kinds. If you already have a DVD burner, make sure you buy compatible media (DVD-R drives will only write DVD-R discs etc). It's said that DVD-R discs are more compatible with stand alone DVD players.
