Thread: How to slice in detail the time line is too small

  1. Default How to slice in detail the time line is too small

    I am trying to slice two small scenes but I haven't been able to figure out how to "zoom into" the time line or expand per say the clip so I can make better cuts

    Look for a magnifying tool with either a + or - in it, there may be both, keep clicking on the + until the timeline is big enough for you. Or you may be able to go to the main menu and find it under View.

    A few methods that will zoom into the timeline, just off the top of my head:
    Select the timeline (any track, event - anything on the timeline) and

    1) Scroll your wheel mouse if you have one
    2) Use the up arrow/down arrow on your keyboard (cursor keys, not num keypad)
    3) Click on the +/- buttons to the immediate right of the scrollbar under the timeline
    4) Stretch either end of the movable part of the scrollbar on the scrollbar under the timeline.

    There are probably more, but I usually find one of these methods is adequate

    * You got a thumb-wheel on your mouse? If so, roll it forward.

    * Ctrl+Up Arrow BIG zoom in to single frame in

    * Alt+Up Arrow CONTINOUS zoom in

    * Use of the HORIZONTAL Slider bar

    * Go>Help>Keyboard Shortcuts

    This last one is especially brilliant and is packed full of truly useful information - I read this when I started and found some real gems.

    Have fun!
