Thread: [Animation]60 still images in 2 seconds blinks when transitioning

Default [Animation]60 still images in 2 seconds blinks when transitioning

I set my still PNG images from an animation that lasts 2 seconds from 3DS max to .04 "still image length" in Vegas preferences. That sets all 60 stills squished back to back that lasts 2.5 seconds. When I add more time to the still image length, thus making the animation slower, it transitions fine.

But when I try for the scheduled time, around 2 seconds or lower, when the motion begins in the animation, you can see blinking when each new still comes up.

Is there a value I can change for smooth non-blinking transitions?

    Anyone know?

Are you seeing it in the preview? Sometimes the preview isn't very smooth, try rendering it out it should be fine.

    Hey Chapman,
I did that but it still blinks just like the preview. .04 is only 1 frame at 29.970 fps.

If you're bored you could put 60 still frames in a track and make sure they import in Preferences>Editing at .04 second still image length. The result should last 2.5 seconds and when it plays you should see the blinking.

I wonder how to fix it.

What is the photo still's properities? If your using print settings that could be the problem.

I exported out of MAX as PNG files with Blend element, alpha channel.

Is there a way I can see if the stills are Print setting in Vegas Chapman? I couldn't see how to do that in Help just now.

No, you would need to do that in your photo software like photoshop or paint shop pro. Print settings are 300dpi and for a dvd I would keep it at about 150dpi. The reason is the higher dpi makes the file larger which is more information to process. So that "could be" part of your problem. If your photos are several mb's then they are probaly to large.
