Default DV or Mini USB...Capture Quality...

    Experts...

I have a Pansonic Vid Camera (apologies - not by my side so cant supply model details right now).

I'm using a USB cable connected to my PC to capture vid clips from its tape to my hard drive, using the Capture feature of Premier Pro Cs3

The quality of the captured clips aint that good and I'm wondering if I'd get better captured quality if I could connect my laptop to a 'hole' on teh side if the camera labelled 'DV'??

Apologies for the basic nature of the question but I'm new at this....

    Regards....

Yes only use DV or Firewire as it is usually called. USB will never give the same quality as Firewire and it doesn't carry the audio signal. So put your USB cable in a darkened room, lock the door and quickly make your way to the exit.
