Default Need help getting video clips

Hello, I'm new to video editing and need some help. I'm doing a project for one of my courses and I want to show a compilation of short clips from various movies as a visual aid. I looked through the stickeys and saw that TMpgenc DVD Author can be used to do basic cutting and such. Will this be enough? Also, how would I go about putting the compilation on a dvd? Thanks.

I know nothing about the software mentioned. You need software to edit and you need software to author dvd's, Some software dose both like pinnacle studio but thats a buggy piece of software. How long to you have to do your project? Brcause it will take time to get used to it and learn how to use it. Its not something you learn in a day. Plus if you plan on using clips from actual feature films theres legal issues about copyright, chances are slim that you would get in trouble since its for a school project but you are taking that chance.

My advice would be to do a search of the forum. Get trial of the diffrent software and see what you like. You will get people saying "this is the best software" but deside for yourself!! after researching it
