Thread: Copying a "protected" DVD disc?

  1. Default Copying a "protected" DVD disc?

I am capturing my VHS videos to DVD and am using the Phillips DVDR880 machine to do it.

The capture works fine and the disc plays well. However, I want to make an identical copy of each DVD but my DVD software will not make a copy, - there's some kind of read error (on each disc I try). However, it plays fine etc.

When finalising the disc on the Phillips 880 there is an option to leave the disc "unprotected" and this is what I choose, but I have problems copying it.

    Any ideas?

not encountered this personally. If I make any 'backups' I use DVDShrink. Once in a while I get a disk I can;t duplicate but not very often. Come to think of it, I haven't used that s/w for months now.

Since the creater of DVDshrink went to work for nero the software has not been updated and it won't be because he signed an agreement that he wont,

Bansaw, have you tried coping the disc to you hdd and then burning the disc?

    Software Used:
TGV Edius 6, TGV ProCoder 3, DVD Lab Pro. 2
