Thread: Creating a blue/green-screen effect?

  1. Default Creating a blue/green-screen effect?

    Hey guys,
I'm very new to the editing business, but here's the two things i want to ask.

    1. I am using Sony Vegas Movie Studio 8.0. My friend was telling me 5.0 is better. Do you think I should get that? I have the money...
    I think.

    2. How would one go about creating a "blue/green-screen" effect, in Vegas MS 8? I would like to create one a little like this:
    YouTube - Tribute Tenacious D - Cover

    Thanks everyone.

1 - What 5? I have absolutely NO idea what you are referring to?

2 - Either BLUE or GREEN. Not both. Once a subject is videoed against a single colour background "key" - read much on lighting here! - it is then "removed" using the Chroma Key Fx by sampling that BG colour and replacing it with an alternative BG. This alternative BG, here for Vegas, is placed on a lower track.

    Done!

    Grazie

it realy dose not matter what color, one will work better then the other depending on the color of the talents clothing, if your talent is wearing green then use a blue screen and vice versa.
