Default copying Hi8 to DVD (Scene Selection)

I have a collection of scenes on hi8 and want to digitize them. I can copy to a sony DV to introduce a time code and then use Pinnacle LG or Premiere pro but how can i mark the scenen changes? whilst there is this option in the software packages I want to manually mark the scenes at the points I choose. What software/hardware would enable me to achieve this?

    thanks Adrian (Newbie)

Do you mean DVD Chapter selection? If so, that step is done at the beginning of DVD authoring and not in the video editing.

I use DVD-Lab and NeroVision Express for that.

    Default DV not DVD

Sorry I meant detecting scenes on DV tape, nothing to so with the production of DVD at all. I was hoping for a programe that allowed me to watch the footage and easily mark the secenes in real time.

    many thaks Adrian
