Default Audigy 2 ZS Pro or not? - advice needed

hey guys, im thinking of buying a real good soundcard for my "gonna be perfect video editing PC". WAs thinking if i shud go in for the Creative Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro, or shud i just stick to the basic . (the pro is much expensive) coz im not quite sure how much better the Pro is,
could any1 help me with this?

or does any1 suggest a better soundcard?

Any current users of the Audigy Pro or basic have any comments or complaints?

    Thanks guys.

so u wud suggest i shud just settle for the basic version? or should i go in for the pro? I wanna buy a really good sound card and am willing to spend the money only if it is worth it. I plan doing a lot of video editing with this pc, not professional stuff right now, but there might be the need...if i make it big

    thanks.

My opinion would be to save you money and buy a standard 5.1 sound card for your PC. For video editing you're producing sound to play on a TV typically (from DVD) or at least that's the case for me. So you're limited to the abilities of the speakers there.

Spend more on the graphics card where you'll really appreciate the difference.

    OK COOL.
also would it make a difference if i took a 16 bit or 24 bit soundcard ?
thing is i just want the sound to be pretty good after exporting my movie. Im hoping it retains the 5.1 surround sound even after processing.

I need to choose between the 16 bit Creative live 5.1 or 24 bit creative audigy.

Do i need to broaden my search from creative, thing is Ive heard theyre the best, am open to second opinions though.

    hey marc.
whether the source material is 24 bit or 16 bit will depend on how i import my videos from my camera right?
or would it depend on my camera too?

the main purpose my my new soundcard is coz i put a lot of music into my videos and I want it to retain the 5.1 surround effect i get when i play it while im editing the video. Right now, with the onboard card i have the sound is real crap after exporting.
based on this wud u sugges 16 or 24 bit?
also whats ur op about creative in the soundcard market. do u think any of the other cards do better?
    thanks heaps marc
