Default Extracting portions of Video to make DVD.

    Hello.
I really hope you can help me.
My specific problem is that I'd like to compile a DVD with bits and pieces from different videofiles on my computer. I've...ehem....downloaded some TopGear episodes, and I'd like to extract certain parts from these episodes for the purpose of burning them onto a DVD-R. The formats are mainly AVI.
Any tips regarding how to do it and regarding easy and good software for this?

    Thank you very much.

This is pretty straightforward. Any off the shelf editing application will do. For the "Extract" portion, just import the avi file(s) and drop them onto your timeline. Trim/cut footage as needed, arrange the clips in preferred ordered and export to mpeg2. Depending on the application, you might be able to burn a DVD right from the editing application.

    Applications to consider:
    Pinnacle Studio
    Premiere Elements
    Sony Vegas

And these can be had for around $100 US.

    Hope this helps!

    Thank you for that.
Tried it in my Pinnacle Studio, but it was locked to NTSC. So I'll have to try something else.

    Thanks!
