Default FIREWIRE CABLE FOR CANON XM2

    Howdy again folks,

This time my query is - I went to connect my XM2 to the video capture card using a normal firewire cable, but then found that the camcorder end is different.
on further examination of my XM2 instruction manual I find I have to purchase either a CV-150F or CV-250F
can anyone enlighten me as to the difference in these cables, and which one of the two would be best ?
also are there alternative cables available ?

As you can gather by the type of question I ask I am a total novice, and am just setting up my video editing workplace etc.

    Thanks anyway
    Thanks for helping

You just need a bog standard 4 pin (cam) to 6 pin (or 4 pin on some boards) on the PC

www.ebuyer.co.uk and www.dabs.co.uk are also a good source of Firewire cables. There is a school of thought, though, that says this is something on which you don't compromise by getting the cheapest/no name brand. Belkin do the kind of thing it sounds like you need, and are a name to be trusted.
