Thread: how do I get smooth transitions?

Default how do I get smooth transitions?

I 'm having trouble getting the cuts between clips to look right. during playback at the point of transition, it seems to jump or skip or something. Just doesn't look smooth. It's like the computer is having troule keeping up...which it shouldn't do as it's a pretty grunty machine.
Is there a way to fix it? or will it sort itself outwhen it's rendered down to a single file?
I don't think it's a case of just cutting in a bad place, on the tutorial dvd his computer seemed to be doing something similar.

The "preview" is never as smooth as the final render.

    Software Used:
TGV Edius 6, TGV ProCoder 3, DVD Lab Pro. 2

That is correct. When previewing, Vegas keeps to time, so anything it can't render in real time, gets skipped.

There are two main things you can do:

    1) select a lower resolution preview
    2) Prerender the section to file (Shift+M) or memory (Shift+B)
