Default Can I get a DVD out of MovieMaker?

I've got a Sony Vaio and a mini DV (DV out only). Using Movie Maker but there isn't an option to save my project on DVD. Is there a way around this or do I need to buy a different editing package?
If so can you recommend a cheap one (i'm just starting out).

    Thanks

Movie Maker does not author DVD's, unless you have the Windows Vista version.

You need to shop around for a program that can author DVDs. Most budget-level video editing packages now include DVD authoring.

Thanks for the response but can you tell me a program that could do it. I've got Nero but that wouldn't do it.
I'm not sure what i would need to save my project as...a WMV or AVI?

The latest version of Nero will author DVDs.

Save your completed Windows Movie Maker project as a DV AVI file. It will be big, but will be best quality.

As for recommended software, that is always down to personal choice. I like Adobe products, but there are many others. Try this:

dvd authoring software - Google Search
