Thread: Still image cropping question

    Default Still image cropping question

    Hi all,

I started to work on a project that requires a lot of still image cropping. I created one video track for that purpose but I came across the following problem: All the other pictures I insert in the same video track apply the same cropping to each of them. If I change the second one to what I want, they all change too. Looks like there's only one cropping config per video track?!

Do I have to create one new video track for each cropping specs of there's a way to apply different cropping parameters to each still images in the same video track. Obviously, I'd like to avoid creating too many tracks...

Thank you very much for your help.

Right click a clip / image and select 'Event Pan/Crop' , that ought to do it.

I'm sorry... I made a mistake. I'm still learning the proper Vegas lingo here...

I mean I enabled the 3D Source Alpha in the compositing mode. I do an image in an another image (onto which I crop/resize). So my PIP resizing seems to be applied to the whole video track... I'd like to have different configurations for each pictures but it seems to be applied to the all the pictures in the track at the same time... Is there a way to have different configurations for each PIP?

    Thanks for any clarifications provided!

    Best regards,

    Benoit

I use a third party app. (photoshop cs3) to do all my still images that way I can adjust color, contrast, curves ec.... then open in vegas and add "ken Burns effect" ec..

Turn Media has a great list here: http://www.videoforums.co.uk/sony-ve...s-answers.html

Your are using the button on the left of the time line, that allows 3d as well as 2d
Use the PAN?CROP button second one down on the clip on the right.

    Thanks,

Actually, my design calls for cropping my pictures AND putting them PIP. While the cropping changes, the PIP frame changes as well. All I want to know is if it's possible to have different composite settings in the same video track.

it depends on the version and if your using vegas or vegas movie studio, Studio is the watered down version and has few settings.
