  1. Default Hiding VCR Messages

    I'm trying to do a VHS - DVD Conversion, but what do you do about the messages that come up. Example "Play"

    If these message appear and are recorded then why not just hit the play buttion ten seconds earlier so it has time to go away before you capture?

    I guess you've already tried this, but some VCRs let you switch off the OSD (On-Screen Display) in the setup menu.

    Well I'd rather not lose footage just because of it.. These are family videos so the content starts as soon as I hit play.

    Video tapes rarely held data at the start of the tape, and there would invariably be a period of blank video at the start. Use this to your advantage and only start recording when the actual footage you need is recorded.
