Default Does a HDD Camcorder need a firewire?!!

Yeah, hi. I have a HDD camcorder, and the programs I get with it don't let me edit my videos. I bought this cheap editing software hoping I could use it, but it can't let me capture. It says, "There are no capture drivers installed on this system." I have a USB lead, but do I need a firewire for it?

Does it have a firewire socket?

I don't think you need a firewire connection. Unless you're talking about one of those $ 20k Panasonic cameras that record on solid state media and HDD.

in my experience with *shudders* HDD cameras it's just been a case of clicking and dragging the clips of footage off the HD through a usb (or firewire) cable, as if it was a normal external drive.

Also extra codecs are sometimes required (if the software that comes with it doesn't work)

That reminds me, I must file my tax returns before the end of the year and look for another mail order bride...
