    Default Holographic discs!!??

(on page 10 of "digital video made easy" issue 14) more info on
    www.inphase-tech.com

...I won't type it all out but here's a summary.

Inphase technologies is developing a new type of holographic disc that can store 200GB!! it uses 2 lasers instead of one to read the data. the point where they intersect is where it is read so the disc has storage in many layers instead of just one. It can transfer up to 20 mb per sec...

    sounds good. any opinions?

...and it'll be an extremely cheap and reliable storage medium for backup.

love your timing Pieguy, posting this less than four hours before the next issue is on sale

As i recall, the theme for the new issue is weddings. Might be worth a read if anyone is heading off to a wedding in the near future.
