    Default Grainy Video Problem

    Hi
Ive shot a bit of video in dark conditions, and lightned it up with premiere pro v7.0.
Now im having a bit of trouble with a grainy look to the video, is there any way i can limit this by smoothing it out a little bit?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Cheers
    Ade

As far as I know you can't get rid of it, the only way to prevent this is to use enough light during the shoot.

    Ok thanks
I was aware of the light problem at the time, but was in a gloomy place with no way of adjusting the light. Still, no problem, thanks for your time.

you can sometimes help this by doing the following.
Duplicate the layer so you have the same clip on layers 1 and 2 synchronised.
Apply suitable effects to smooth out the image in the top layer. Maybe defreckle and/or a little blur.
Reduce the opacity of the top layer.
Maybe try swapping the layers over as well.

As noa implied though, there's nothing as good as getting the lighting right to start with.

This may not be your solution but maybe worth a try. Apply some gamma adjustment.
