    Default My first submission

    Hey everyone,

I've been an active listener posting a few coments here and there but I'd like to post a trailer to an upcoming 'home movie' I'm making. With that said, I'm not sure if this counts for the contest but I'll leave that up to Marc to decide.

But the movie is here: http://www.danegan.com/trailer.mov

Any comments or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks very much guys, you have all taught me so much!

    Cheers!

You've got the video effects extremely well synched to the audio - something that's so often overlooked and doesn't need the latest expensive hardware/software Imagination is free...

The "flying" video over the map seemed somewhat out of place. They lack dimension, so don't look real. It would look so much better if you added a third dimension... perhaps with the word danegan along one of the edges? Or maybe turn the flat images into one cube which rolls over the top of the map - more like a dice.

I think there needs to be a bit more movement after the flash to white too - I think there's a bit too much white space.

Jeesh I'm hard to please Excellent effort mate and keep up the good work!

    Default Thanks Marc!

You may be hard to please but it's so much more help when people give constructive criticism. I agree with the 3D space and the movies. A cube would be a very good idea.

Otherwise, is it 'trailer' enough to go into the competition?

Just a thought and thanks again.

    Keep it comin' folks.

If you want to enter it, then that's absolutely fine. Whether it fits the criteria will be decided when it's judged

I thought the tecnical effects, cobine with the overall compisition were fairly good.

As a trailer though the sumperimposed video didn't quite get the message across for me.

Technically impressive though. Well done you!

Yup. It was all done in after effects.

Keep an eye out on www.danegan.com the next little while. I'm actually on a whole long summer vacation in British Columbia, Canada so I'm filming and throwing it up for all my friends at home to see.

    Thanks for the response!
