    Default croping video screen size

    Hi,

I have an avi file which has black edges on the sides, i want to crop the screen size of the avi file to get rid of the black edges. Can someone please give me tips on how to do this?
The avi file in quesion has the following attributes:
    Height: 720 pixels
    Weight:576 pixels
    Duration: 00:06:16
    Bit Rate: 1024kbps
    Audio Sample Size: 16 Bit
    Audio format: PCM
    Frame Rate: 25 frames/sec

I want to be able to maintain the same quality even after the black edges have been cropped out, is this possible?

    Thanks

it will do it properly, you need to play around with the settings to get the best results. It sounds as if you encoded using poor settings - look up the site ther's a tonm of info to do it best

Be warned though that your original video just happens to be nicely standard PAL size.

If you do crop the clip the dimensions will no longer be the same and you may find yourself limited tro what you can then do with it. i.e. you need specific exact dimensions to make a DVD from it.

If that's your plan then consider whether removing trhe black bars is what you really want.

    Just a thought.
