Question Newbie has an editing problem

Basically, last year I did the DVDs for my theatre group, now this year I am planning to do it again, but last year's DVDs were of a pretty poor standard.

I'm planning to use Adobe Encore DVD 2.0 for the authoring and burning.

Up until now I have been using Cyberlink PowerDirector 5 for the actual editing. But I was wondering if PowerDirector is the way to go, or if there is any other newbie/learner-friendly package for editing that would be better.

    Thanks.

Don't know Powerdirector but do know Encore. If you're thinking about buying Encore for this job then it may well prove to be a sledge hammer to crack a nut when you can buy something like Premiere Elements which will be more than capable as a video editor and allow you to author your DVDs - all for about 60. Having said that though, a few friedns have found that an even better deal is the Premiere Elements and Photoshop Elements package for about 100.
