Default Playing AVI files on a TV

I am converting Video 8 tapes to DV and have Adobe PP2 as the capture software.

The pre-edit files are c 25GB and I would like to view them on TV from the PC.

The video card and vga output are both knackered on the laptop so viewing them on the pc is not on as the output is v jumpy.

I would like to maintain as much quality as possible
    Thanks.

By the sounds of it you'll jus have to encode them as MPEG2, and author a DVD.

For the benefits of others here is a solution:

By connecting the camera [Canon MV750i] to the computer via firewire and to the TV using the AV connection, using adobe PP2 I am able to view the videos on the TV. The external drive with all the videos is connected via USB 2.0 to the computer.

There is no mechanical wear on the camera, it acts as a converter
