Default Sony Vegas 7 and 720p

    Hello!

I'm trying to test out HD editing in Vegas. I downloaded this clip I found from Altavista.

I go to File => New => and choose "HDV 720-30p".

However, when I drop the file in, I just get 6 channels of sound, no video channel.

    Anyone know what's up?

That file isnt an HDV clip, it is an Xvid made at the same resoloution as 720p but at a much lower (4mbit/s) bit rate.

HDV files have the extension .m2t.

Vegas doesnt seem to like some flavours of xvid and will not edit the video.

If you want to try vegas on .m2t files there are some short clips avialable on this site, http://www.hdvinfo.net/articles/jvcp...ini35test5.php

use a different format than that for HD.
