There's Muvee autoProducer which does pretty good results. And it's cheap. There are also other programs that do a decent job. Pinnacle Studio has also a built-in module for unattended edit (I've never used it and can't really say anything about it). But are you sure you want your DOCUMENTARY automatically edited?

This does not make any sense! Mihal Mark and I are all getting the idea that you wanna do an edit automatically! automatic editing does not exist. By its nature editing is an art form so automating it is impossible.

What exactly do you want to achieve?

if you are trying to get a video to sync with your music, you can basically use any video editing program. your pc comes with windows movie maker so you can use that.

Actually it is possible to automate Art, there are several super computers that can be 'trained' to generate paintings and music, indistinguishable from that generated by humans : P Perhaps the same could be done.
It's not about what camera you use or how much it cost.

    It's about what you shoot,
    how you shot it,
and how you edit it :P
