    Default Widescreen Effect

Hello. I am using Vegas 6 to make a video and I wanted to make the video have a widescreen effect, which would cut out sections at the bottom and top of the video. Does anyone know how to do this? Help appreciated.

It's called letterboxing, and I just looked it up in the help file!

Simply put - create and render your project in 16:9 (widescreen), then import the file into a new 4:3 project, and render it again. Obviously don't check the "stretch video to fill output frame" box.

It's explained in more detail in the help file. Hit F1!

This is not advisable as it will result in a loss in quality. Sorry to contratict you Alexa!

In vegas use the "event pan/crop" tool or the track motion tool to crop the track in question into a letter boxed look.

Alternativley you could create the letter box in photoshop and slap that in the top video layer in vegas.

These ways you are not re-rendering the project

Actually you're contradicting the help file, but the photoshop method is much better!
