    Hi all, what accessories should i look into for the new camera i'm getting?

    (The Samsung Sports Camcorder)

    The list may well prove to be endless but anyone serious enough with their camcorder to even post on a forum like this should have a tripod.

    Next, I would think about one or more microphones.

    Make sure you invest in some video editing s/w and a DVD burner.

    And, if you are new, then pick up a few monthly mags fromteh newsagent. They typically have startup guides offering decent advice to newbies. These are also a good way of picking up trial version of software too.

    Agree with Alan also-Once you get into serious editing things such as
    • Lights
    • mic boom

    I no its very little but theese two tools can make a video 50% better if used in the correct way. Thats my 2 pennys worth anyway

    Ah, yes, that isn't really a 'real' camcorder. Those are really not the type of camera that you use any accessories with, they are fine for capturing the odd fun moment and are very portable but the quality is very poor compared to dv.

    I nearly got one for 'secret' filming as they are very small and robust.

    I suspect solid state is the future and indeed some high end cameras use big sd cards but the recording time for decent quality and the cost of the media means that the storage mediums time is has not yet come.
