    Default the perfect capture...

this is a combination of hardware and software i think..

I'm really tearing my hair out over this...

I'm getting tiny horizontal lines when i capture my dv footage, they are noticable on edges, especially against white. I'm sure this problem has come up before, what am I doing wrong and how can I get the perfect crystal clear capture on this following system...

pc, windows xp, 2 gb ram, duel processor, premiere pro, DV camera Sony DCR-VX2100E PAL, firewire input.

any help would be greatly appreciated. Someone recomended that Premiere needs to recogniese this exact camera.. but it is not listed in the DV capture options, any ideas on how i get it all working in harmony?
    thanks!

I would need a pic to be sure but I am almost sure what you are seeing is interlacing. Nothing to worry about and perfectly normal. You will not see the effect on a TV. If your vids are to be watched on computers mainly then just deinteralce the footage.

If you want a more involved explanation I can give one.

You say 'I'm getting tiny horizontal lines when i capture my dv footage, they are noticable on edges, especially against white', what is against the white? Is it a dark coloured object or dark edge? If it is either then you may be getting some kind of chromatic or luminance problem where you have two areas of high contrast next to each other. The CCD can only handle so much white and so much black and if either exceeds the 'limit' then you may get bleeding or breakup where black meets white.
