    Default LiveType2

    Hello there.

I've been very impressed by the titles that LiveType2 produces. Here's the link to their homepage:
    http://www.livetypecentral.com/help_aboutLT.html

A good exacmple of the titles that LiveType2 produces can be found here:

The whole video is filled with those titles, and especially the intro.

LiveType2 is also used in all kinds of Apple products, such as iMovie and FinalCutPro. However, both these products and LiveType2 are MAC-ONLY programs.

I would like to ask whether there is a program for WINDOWS which creates the same, or as close effects of titles?

    Thanks a lot,
    Omer.

Is the term 'Livetype' just the group name for the expansion packs. I went to have a look and all that's on offer are three expansion packs and no main product - that I can find.

However, it's clearly aimed at titling and there are a number available on a Windows platform. I've never been in the market for a bespoke titler (always either using Premier Pro and/or After Effects for mine) but I've come across a few on my travels. Some cheap and cheerful and some not so cheap. Look at the offerings of http://www.borisfx.com for a start.

But having said that, other than the fact that the templates are made for you in those handy expansion packs there's nothing I don't think I couldn't do in AE with a little bit of thought.

    Dear Alan,
    Thank you so much!

However, it doesn't seem to me that Boris applications (and I've watched all videos for all products in the website) can create those kind of effects. Plus, I believe it might be creatable with After Effects, though I have never worked with it and I heard that it is expensive and pretty complicated. I'd prefer something as simple as possible.

Really thanks a lot, it's appreciated.

Weel, I might argue that at 150 (USD? UKP) per expansion pack that the cost of After Effects is not expensive at all.

And, now I'm at home I have watched the first minute of that (slowly downloading) clip and I can confirm that there is nothing in the titles that AE cannot do in a few minutes. I could get quite close in Premiere Pro with just a little more effort (minus the zooming off the page bit that is).

There's nothing fancy going on there just a littel bit of animation of the text while it sits on a coloured background. The sort of stuff I usually do doesn;t lend itself to that kind of titling but it all looks standard enough.

Also, you might want to have a look at Video fun box over at http://www.jellypie.co.uk/ which is a great little tool and is cheap as chips - almost.

    Or this http://www.blufftitler.us/

Alan, thanks so much again! I appreciate it a lot.

I have already come across blufftiter, and what I found out is that it's use is to create 3D titles, and it doesn't focus on creating animations like LiveType2.

I haven't seen jellypie until now, but it seems to me that it's about creating titles on a created background, not synchronising titles with the current background one already has.

Raj, thank you too for your comment. The cost is indeed reasonable.

What I'm afraid of the most about After Effect is that I won't be able to work with it, since I lack any experience with any editing software which is more complicated than Pinnacle Studio. Do you believe it will be very problematic?

    Thanks again!!!
    Omer.
