For some reason the .mov files I rendered in After Effects with sorenson 3 compression would cause a buffer overrun error in quicktime. They seemed to load ok in Premiere Pro (scrubbing through the timeline worked ok) but playback caused the video to drop out, and often Premiere would crash.
So I'm using total video encoder to re-encode these .mov files into mpeg 4s. Now all my clips play fine in quicktime and don't crash Premiere, but when I preview as well as export the project, those segments I have re-encoded are choppy. It seems to only read 1 frame per second of video.
What is a quick fix for this issue? I've searched this forum and I'm having a difficult time finding info about it. Any help is greatly appreciated.
