    Default VHS to DVD conversion

Since I bought my Canopus I'm being inundated from 'chums' asking me to transfer their VHS tapes to DVD, with Chapters. How much should I charge?.

    Loads !

I tihnk it is actually quite expensive to get this done commercially. I would charge these chums at an a sensible amount or it will never end....

I've seen places do this for anywhere from $19.95 to $40 per hour of tape.

I have a bit of experience with doing paided jobs and before starting a project make it clear to costomer what everything costs.

i.e. just the video converted $.....
    video with a dvd menu+chapters
full dvd with various menus and special features

And to answer your question "how much?"

    Its difficult.

with a film lasting 30mins and a dvd menu I would ask them ........

    LOADS as mark says!!!!!

Seems like 'chums' are happy to pay 10 per hour, straight transfer from VHS to DVD (no menus etc.) and 'real chums' are happy to pay 15 per hour to have all their VHS's transferred and catalogued with menus, chapter points.
Problem is... a one hour VHS, on average takes about 4 hours of comp. time.( Load into Vegas then render out to MPEG). During this time my comp is slow as hell....so Mr. Markw....answer me this........
"When i render a big project i just set the process priority to below noraml and forget it, it wont slow down other things then.
How do I 'set the process to below normal?' and will this allow me to use me comp as normal while its rendering?.
