    Default Using Adobe Media Encoder

    Hello all,

As I like to create multiple small movies in a single DVD, I tried to create a movie file using Adobe Media Encoder. I have selected Preset PAL Progressive High Quality 4 Mb VBR 2 Pass option uner MPEG2-DVD format. This created three files -> .M2V, .m2v.mcses and .wav. Then I tried with Nero Vision express to create a DVD out of this movie, but Nero is giving error that the second and third files are not of movie files.

Can someone help me on this issue? Also can you please let me know which could be the best option (Preset & Format) to choose for a regular TV viewing movie?

    Thanks for your help.

In truth, I'm not sure what those files are. I go this route but instead I use Adobe Encore for doingmy DVDs. I only import the M2V and WAV fiels as assets and have not had any grief yet from discarding the other files.

I would be curious if anyone does know what they are. Chapter stops maybe?

The mcses file is the info gathered by the main concept encoder on the first pass and is not of any use after the encoding is complete, and shouldn't be included in your DVD.

When setting up the preset in media encoder go to the audio tab and choose Mpeg audio or Dolby Digital instead of wav, this will give you much better compression and more room on the disc. Most DVD creation software will want to re-encode the wav audio to DD, ac3 or mp2 anyway (it would seem that in your case nero won't take wav at all)

Adobe media encoder gives you an .mpa file for the audio if your dvd software doesn't accept it just rename to .mp2.
