Thread: Video Editing for Pentium II?

Default Video Editing for Pentium II?

I use a Pentium II 350mhz, and I'm interested in editing from my video camera (analog tapes). I have somebody that can burn it on a DVD and that I can rip (converting using my pc would be suicide). My question is, what program can I use to edit the avi file (video, audio, effects)?

Are you using xp? Movie maker, bulit in to xp, is probably best. IN tests ulead video studio worked ok on a low cpec machine, but that was 600mhz, not 350.

    Here is a usefull article,

I ran xp on a p2 350 ok for a bit, and mmaker did work I think, but as Koma says I would get a faster pc if you can. Things like 2 gig p3s can be picked up for very sensible sums.

You could use virtualdub or virtualdubMPEG2. You would be able to cut your vids in to sections and remove sections without recompressing, and you would be able to use the filters which would require recompression.
