Thread: Newbie question about software

    Default Newbie question about software

I am about to get a DVD writer and a firewire card, and want to make some good quality DVDs with attractive menus and chapters from holiday footage, etc.

The thing is, I'm not sure what software I need. I know I'll need some editing software (eg Vegas), authoring (Tmpgenc Author), and burning (nero). Will these take care of the encoding for me?

Is this all I need, and are there better or more suitable pieces of software than those I have suggested.

    Thanks, Chris

Will most probably depend upon your budget. Personally I use the Ulead family of software and have no problems. Check out the main software vendors and download trials where possible to see what is right for you.

    Good luck
