Angry Canon mvx350i issues in Premier Pro 2.0

    Hi Guys,

I am new to the world if video editing. I have started to capture footage on a Canon mbx350 miniDV digital camcorder and have managed to get my paws on a copy of Adobe Premier Pro 2.0.

However, I am having issues capturing my video using Premier Pro. I am using a USB 2.0 connection to connect my camera to my PC.

Premier Pro won't recognise my camera and capture video from it. ANy ideas on this guys? Your help will be much appreciated.

    Yours Faithfully,

    Habs.

I wonder if Marc could make some sort of huge flashing neon sign and put it on the homepage of this forum with the words 'DON'T USE USB, ONLY USE FIREWIRE'. If only it were possible...

Habsworld, As others have indicated. Under no circumstances should you ever connect a camcorder to a PC for the purposes of capturing footage via a USB port. Go buy yourself a cheap firewire lead (should only be a few bucks/quid/euros/whatever) to do the job, assuming this camera has a firewire connection.

If you can even perform the capture then you'll likley get at best VHS quality footage rather then DVD quality.
