Default Inserting a part from one clip into another

I can manage the basics in Sony vegas 6.0, However.. For example; If I had a clip with a person moving around How do i like... cut out that person from the background and inserting him into another clip or into a picture? I've heard about masking but If the person is moving around, I cannot see how it would be possible to solve this issue with masking..?

    Thanks

Have you read "Creating Video Masks" on Page 259 of the Vegas Manual?

One of my posts that demonstrates what you can do with masking.
