Thread: H.264 Codec?

    Default H.264 Codec?

    Hey guys,
I just got Vegas 6 and I was wondering if there is a h.264 codec that I can download for free so I can render high quality .mov files with a low # of MB's? Also, does anyone know what Vegas 7 has for rendering features? Does it have H.264?

Or is there a way to render .mov files at high quality and low file size?

    Thanks!

No but I think I will later this week. Vegas 6 came in just yesterday.

Do you know if Vegas 7 has it?

I dont have 7 yet but I THINK it uses CineForm Intermediate. I also read somewhere, cant remember where, that the H.264 codec doesnt sit to comfortably with Vegas. Vegas is a bit 'iffy' about certain codecs.

H.264, also known as MPEG-4 AVC (Advanced Video Coding) is supported in vegas 7. If you don't have version 7 yet it is worth every penny!
