Default help.... i'm a newbie... Video format ?

    good day all..

I am new to editing and authoring my AVI Videos that I created. What format is needed to create a DVD to play on a home DVD player?

What software is good for authoring and burning? Is ULead a good software?

    Thanks,

    Brook

You can go for NTSC or PAL depending on the format played by your DVD player. And ya Ulead VideoStudio is good enough for a newbi.

    good Day,

Thanks for the post... how do I determine what is playable by my DVD player? What about the Video Size? should it be limited to?

Also, what is the difference between NTSC & PAL formats?

    Thanks,

    Brook

It depends on where you are, US uses NTSC. In order to burn to a DVD you need a DVD complient stream "MPEG 2" the DVD authoring program will then convert it to a dvd file "vob" after its converted you should be no larger then 4.2 gb with out menues. Most lower end software will adjust it to fit for you by lowering the bit rate though you will get the best quilty at 60-70 min of video per dvd.
