Default Media manager fails to initialize

Does anyone know how to remedy this?
    The message i recieve is:

"The media manager failed initialization and is unavailable"

Can someone help me please? could it be because previously I had the demo version installed?

I have the same problem. Although I don't really see a need for Media Manager so I deactivated it in the preferences. NBD

I find media manager more usefull with audio. It makes it easier to heir snippits of sound effects that you might want to use.

Yeah I also heard that it's not needed, but Im sure that if you knew the uses you'd be that much better. Anyways, I guess I'll have to go without it.

So it's not galactic ignorance on my part? What a change!

To listen to audio files, I select Import; navigate to the appropriate folder, then right-click on the file. Select Play, and voila! you hear the file. This is especially useful when selecting sound effects, which are often very much alike.
