    Thumbs down Just A Warning

    "external capture devices"

I have been using the VIVO connections on my graffics card to capture live t.v.
Problem was the quality was just mpeg1.
I went out and brought a Dazzle Video Creator Platinum DVC 170 external capture device.
Ok the set up was easy,But afterwards I realised vegas doesnt reconise it as a capture device.
So I have to use the dreaded Pinnacle Studio software supplyed.

Anyone else been caught out like that?

I didnt read anywhere on the box that I needed 2ndware software

    I am quite disapointed

Yeap! I was caught out when I first started this lark last year. After many failed attempts to get analogue video into Vegas (with out dropping frames) in AVI format I bought myself a 'Canapus 110' firewire device and have never looked back since. not cheap but does a first rate job!

all you troubles will end with this little jobbie!!!!

I think I paid about 200 for mine (brand new)
and there is the cheaper '55' model if you only want a capture device (no out put to TV monitor) for about 90 I think?
Check ebay... you can find quite a few from time to time!
