Default Need help - overexposed image!! :-(

Hello everybody just found this forum and hope you can help me with a problem I have.

I have shot some video but due to light sources and incorrect manual exposure setting on the camera, I've ended up with a lot of video containing overexposed areas.

    Here is a screenshot:

Is there any way to fix these areas so it doesn't look as aweful as it does now??

I am using Premiere Pro for editing.

    Hope you can help me!

    Thanks,

    Christian

Premiere has an abundance of effects. Don't have it in front of me but I'd be very surpised if it doesn't have a 'levels' effect. Play with settings and find your best results.

However, it's a given that within the digital realm you get much better results extracting details from an under-exposed (dark) image than you do from an over-exposed image so don't expect miracles I'm afraid!

You should be able to find some sort of improvement though. Just don't hold your breath during the 'render' phase

Try a combination of contrast/brightness and reduced gamma correction and you should be able to sort it out. Drop the gamma a tad then mess with contrast/brightness.
