Default Using codecs to make files smaller Help!

    Hi,
Im new to editing videos and was wondering if anyone had any advice they could give. Im currently ripping some dvds and the file size is huge but has very good quality. Ive seen movies that are in avi. format, they have very good quality but are very small. Is there any advice anyone could recommend about making these files smaller?
    Cheers
    Matt

You could rip them directly into DivX. Try DVD Shrink.
