Thread: mkv, ogm and rmvb file formats

    Default mkv, ogm and rmvb file formats

    need help please..
    how to burn these file to dvd. im using nero 7 premium but nero 7 cant read these files...
    any suggestions please....
    do i have to convert these files to avi or something that nero can read.
    or do i need other burning tools??

    Avi2Dvd will convert .mkv .ogm to DVD

    It's freeware, but be careful it can cause other video programs to perform slowly.

    For converting the .rmvb try www.eo-video.com I have used it in the past and it worked quite well but isn't free, but you can try it for 30 days, so at least you know if it works before handing over any money.

    There is always quality loss when encoding to a different format, but sometimes it isn't obvious.

    Any file that is encoded for DVD has to be encoded down to MPEG2 which is a compressed format, so the quality depends on the quality of the source video. When converting it is always best to try and convert directly to the format you want rather than convert to 1 and then again to another.

    Try it and see if the quality loss is noticable or acceptable.

    Why not buy the dvd instead of pirating it -
