Hi there, I'm fairly new to video editing and not 100% certain when it comes to technical issues too so I'm hoping that someone can help me out.

I have a Canon XM1 and a Sony VX900E, and both have small mini-jack mic inputs. I want to be in a position where I can attach mics with XLR inputs.

Can someone recommend me a suitable XLR converter for the above cameras.

You can make one. i have one made out of a old set of headphones and a XLR connector. The way it works is that my dad chopped the actural speakers off/cans and wired it into a XLR connector. I will get my dad to wright a guide (Or if your lucky make you one :lol: ).

Sounds like you need a "Beachtek DXA4"

This is a box that sits between the camera and tripod and performs the function you want. And from my experience, performs it very well too.

Your trouble may come from the fact that you want it for two different cameras. They tend to come cameras specific because of how the camera mounts on top of it.

It does appear, though, that the price has increased since I got mine this time last year, sorry.
