Default Sound Issue

This may seem stupid to ask but here goes... :

I was trying to copy some children's music vids from three different DVDs to make one master DVD for our Children's Director. Yes, before anyone says this is illegal we are using within house and have paid for the originals. What I am finding is that when I capture using Pinnacle and play back, the sound is extremely distorted but picture is perfect. When I place a regular DVD and capture with everything the same, sound and picture is perfect. Could this be a protection issue with these particular DVDs? I hope I am explaining myself correctly.

When (or if ) , I capture DVDs I use my Canopus dv converter. Never had any problems with any disc at all. I thought though that copy protection extended to picture only. I'm probably wrong though.

Turnmedia:

Like I stated, I also have never had this problem before and I have been capturing for quite a while now for different programs using different DVDs and other media. Very puzzling but again I think the industry is just doing what it can to stop copying and this particular company decided on sound. Picture quality has always been the area that I have seen effected before as well. WEIRD!

I am currently working on some options to bypass this but may be a lost cause and really no big deal as she has the 3 original DVDs to work with, it was just going to make her life so much easier.
