I am well chuffed with my new Canon XM2. Picture quality superbe etc.

However I am filming a wedding next month and I need to invest in a decent uni-directional microphone.

What would you recommend udner £150 (I am Scottish after all, so cheaper would be welcome) and why?

Thanks

i don't know about under £150 but i have the Sennheiser M66 (around £300) - the difference between the onboard mic and this is unbelievable.

Most pro quality mics need XLR connectors to connect to the camera which i don't believe the XM2 has so you'd need this beachtek box here http://www.beachtek.com/dxa4p.html or something similar

Cool, the ME66 and K6 is the set I ordered today. Certainly not heard anything bad about them. Might just have to look out for a cheap boom now

How about hiring one? There's a place in ibrox, the name of which evades me just now... I'll remember later, it's early yet.

Gottit.

Warehouse Sound Service Ltd - Glasgow 0141 445 4466

We've hired dat recorders and mixers and stuff from them for previous projects. Decent guys.

You could always become a member of the Gmac too.
