More information required I think.

What method of video capture is he using (firewire, USB, Analogue)?

What software is he using?

What settings have been applied thus far within that software?

What is the specification of the PC involved?

Thanks

Default Problem with audio of downloaded AVI clips in Ulead 9

I am using Ulead 9.
I was downloading video from a Sony DCR PC9 via firewire. As I was editing, I noticed that some clips had no audio. I had to adjust the audio properties of the indivudual clips for the sound to come out. And even then the sound was tinny.
When played on Windows Media Player, the avi's had no sound.
I used to use Pinnacle Studio 7 and never had this problem.
Can anybody help me?

____________

That's why DVCAM was introduced, there this problem is iliminated by locking video and audio paths.
Other then that there is no difference between the two.

Actually mini dv and dvcam are identical, the main difference being the tape speed and track width. Don't worry though it's a common mistake to make.

What happened is that DVcam was intoduced by Sony, mainly for semi-pro and wedding videographers, and to make it sound much better than mini dv,in the dvcam blurb Sony promoted features which are actually common to both formats.

Edit. Back to the point: It sounds to me that it's a capture or software issue, rather than a tape issue.
